Oaklands Olympics

We had a game of hurdles and some races.

In Christchurch, it was raining so we could not have our  Oaklands Olympics on the field that we planed. Instead, we had some games inside the hall and some on the courts. The year 8's helped because of the rain. They did a really good job and they handled everything really well.

Olympics in the library.

In the library, for the past week or so, the Olympics have been playing for the students to watch at lunch time. Here are some of their thoughts:
Megan: I have enjoyed watching the show-jumping!
Isabella: I enjoyed the gymnastics and swimming.
Rachel: I have enjoyed the soccer because I like playing it.
Maygan: I like watching the competitiveness and just how fun it is to watch.
Jacqueline: I enjoy watching people try and beat records.
Kaley: I've enjoyed watching the sailing and the weigh lifting.

Over all, it's great that the Olympics are being played in the library at lunch time. I hope to see some more soon!

N.E.D. Assembly

Here are some pictures of the N.E.D Assembly. The N in Ned stands for never give up, the E stands for encourage others and the D stands for Do your best.

Never give up.
Encourage others.
Do your best.

During the NED assembly the presenter did some Yo-Yo tricks like walking the dog and the Eiffel tower. The Yo-Yo Tricks were to show us about being a champion and showing perseverance.

The assembly was for the whole school and it happened on Thursday the 25th July.
The main message of the presentation was to be a champion by doing everything in the word N.E.D. The children were able to buy Yo-Yo's and one person won a free one.
